The perfect summertime salsa featuring your favorite fruit with an added kick! Serve salsa with chips, on tacos, or on grilled meat.

Ingredients

2 cups of diced watermelon
1/2 jalapeño pepper, deseeded and minced
1/2 cup of chopped chives
1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro (optional)
1 tablespoon of lime juice

Directions

Wash and dry fresh watermelon, chives, jalapeño pepper, and cilantro (if using).
Prepare and measure all the ingredients.
In a medium bowl, combine and mix all the prepared ingredients.
Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours. Eat within 3 to 5 days.

Cook's Note

Don't want to cut a watermelon yourself? Check the produce section of the grocery store for pre-chopped watermelon!
Try substituting 1 mango or 1 ¹/₂cup of diced strawberries in for the watermelon.
Try substituting 1/2 cup of minced onion in for the jalapeño pepper.
