Nevada State Parks Infographics

This report presents comprehensive findings from a survey across Nevada's state parks under the Nevada Division of State Parks, covering Demographics, Trip Quality, Park Performance, Visitation Patterns, Recreation Activities, and Planning Priorities. It focuses on the demographic of the visitor and visitors’ group while presenting satisfaction in trip quality and park performance data as well. Key insights include visitor numbers, diverse recreational interests, and a demand for better amenities and environmental conservation. Below is a list and description of each of the buckets that questions from the survey will fall into as well as a brief description of each bucket.

1. Demographics

The demographic section analyzes the profile of park visitors. Key findings include a diverse age range, with a significant representation from both local residents and out-of-state visitors. There was a balanced gender distribution, and the majority of visitors reported having at least some college education.

2. Trip Quality

Visitors rated their experiences highly in terms of enjoyment and satisfaction. Scenic beauty, trail quality, and cleanliness received the highest ratings. Areas for improvement included signage clarity and availability of amenities.

3. Performance of the Park

This section assesses the parks' infrastructure and services. Most parks were rated highly for their maintenance and safety. However, suggestions for improved restroom facilities and more frequent patrolling were noted.

4. Visits

Data on visitation patterns revealed a steady increase in the number of visitors, with peak seasons in spring and fall. Repeat visitation was high, indicating strong visitor loyalty. Day trips were more common than overnight stays.

5. Recreation

A wide range of recreational activities were popular, including hiking, bird watching, and camping. The report highlights the need for more recreational programs tailored to families and younger visitors.

6. Planning Priorities

Based on visitor feedback, the planning priorities identified include expanding parking facilities, enhancing environmental conservation efforts, and upgrading trail networks. There is also a demand for more educational and interpretive programs focusing on the parks' natural and cultural heritage.
