Certified Radon Measurement Professionals

Nevada Radon Education Program maintains a list of Nevada Certified Measurement Professionals which is maintained and updated with certification expiration dates derived from one of two national voluntary radon proficiency programs — the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) and the National Radon Safety Board (NRSB). Both organizations list certified radon professionals who have had a specific training and passed a written exam.

A certified radon measurement professional has had specific training and passed a written test on their knowledge of testing standards and requirements for radon testing in homes and large buildings. Certified radon testers know where and how to properly place, handle and retrieve radon devices. Their continuous radon monitors must be calibrated yearly.

The Nevada Radon Education Program do not endorse or recommend any company or individual over another. As with any home service, each professional will have their own pricing and testing devices. The price may depend upon the distance the tester has to travel to place and retrieve the unit, as well as how many areas you want tested.

Southern Nevada - At this time Southern Nevada does not have any NRPP certified radon testers so they cannot be listed on this website. The EPA recommends using a NRPP certified radon professional. However, an online search will show licensed but uncertified radon professionals. Nevada does not require this certification.

If you are a licensed radon professional and would like to be listed on this website contact Chrisk@unr.edu for information on NRPP certification.

Nevada Radon Education Program

The Nevada Radon Education Program is funded through a grant from the EPA to educate Nevadans about the health risk posed by elevated levels of radon in the home. The Extension program offers literature, educational presentations and low-cost radon test kits in many county Extension and partner offices.
