Search for Excellence: Extension Master Gardener Awards

Statewide Volunteer Recognition - Coming in 2026!

Search for Excellence is the newest statewide recognition program for the Nevada Extension Master Gardener program. This recognition program reflects the David Gibby International Search for Excellence Awards.

Search for Execellene has seven categories:

  1. Community Service
  2. Demonstration Gardens
  3. Innovative Projects
  4. Research (Applied Scientific Methodology)
  5. Special Needs Audiences (Senior, Disabled Audiences or Horticultural therapy)
  6. Workshop or Presentation
  7. Youth Programs

Through the Search for Excellence recognition program, Master Gardeners demonstrate their outstanding contributions to their communities, providing significant learning and impact in the local community. All Search for Excellence applications must show that significant learning took place, with the focus on educating the general public.

All Search for Excellence awards recognize outstanding group projects rather than individuals completing outstanding work. We recommend preparing your application materials prior to completing the application form so you can easily enter your information.

Winning submissions will also be submitted to the David Gibby International Search for Excellence Awards.
