Summary

Mary Mena Boateng is an NSF EPSCoR Postdoctoral Scholar in the Departments of Economics and Cooperative Extension within the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her research focuses on resource economics, with an emphasis on natural and water resources. Mary’s current work examines the feasibility of deploying Mobile Energy Water Reuse Systems (MEWRS) to restore potable water after climate-related shocks and natural disasters in rural communities, advancing community resilience. She is leading community engagement activities, including focus groups with tribal communities and conducting survey of rural water system managers in three EPSCoR states: Nevada, Mississippi and Louisiana.
