Summary
The Living With Fire Wildfire Science Curriculum is a free resource for Nevada teachers all about wildfire in Nevada. This curriculum contains units designed around high school biology, earth science, and environmental science courses. Each unit meets several Next Generation Science Standards, includes engaging Nevada-specific phenomena, and empowers students to reduce their households' wildfire risk. In addition to supporting teachers in using these materials and developing new curricula, I also coordinate a Career and Technical Education Fire Science Program that prepares interested Washoe County high school students for careers in the fire service.
