Summary
As a Nevada resident for over 25 years, Cherry developed a keen understanding of the fragile Mojave Desert and enjoys hiking and exploring. Since becoming a certified Master Gardener in 2007, Cherry contributed almost 1,000 volunteer hours with the program in Pahrump, including over 350 CE (Continuing Education) hours.
During employment at Extension in Pahrump 2016-2017, Cherry hosted the Master Gardener Training course, the Grow Your Own, Nevada! evening classes and the annual Pruning Workshop, with hands-on demonstration.
Cherry enjoys sharing her wealth of horticultural knowledge with the public and encourages others to grow their own vegetables and fruit and has a special affinity for landscape design, with the desert conditions in mind.
Past employment roles in customer service, bookkeeping, payroll, human resources, purchasing, sales and all the other in-between parts of business and commerce make Cherry a welcome addition to the Extension office in Pahrump.
