The Native American Agriculture Fund is a private, charitable trust serving Native farmers and ranchers through strategic grant making in the areas of business assistance, agricultural education, technical support and advocacy series.
The Extension team has a contract with the Native American Agriculture Fund (NAAF) to provide business training to American Indian Producers in the West. The project team has over 60 years of valuable combined expertise in Indian land tenure systems and tribal governance on reservations that is the biggest challenge for access to credit. This basic understanding of land ownership and how to use land or other resources for collateral is unique. In addition to the land tenure system, financial management and learning how to manage your credit score, how to manage cash flow, and dynamics of surviving changing ag markets can be difficult. Due to COVID-19, in-person training sessions have been postponed. The team decided to do a series of one-hour Zoom Crawls on topics of financial management and business management
