Nevada 4-H 2026, Nevada 4-H State Expo Book 2026, Extension, University of Nevada, Reno

Welcome to the 2026 Nevada Statewide 4-H Expo Event!

The 4-H Expo aims to showcase the hard work our 4-H members have put into their projects with a lighthearted competition; thus, promoting and providing the incentive for achieving excellence in sportsmanship, leadership, and responsibility of the highest order in the members. Additionally, we want to celebrate the commitment of our volunteer leaders.

We are excited to join the State Fair of Nevada and the Nevada Jr. Livestock Show this year for one big event! While combining several events into one large event has a few growing pains, we are very excited to be part of this historic event and know it will get better over the years.

The theme of Expo this year is Year of the Horse! I encourage you to look at our Special Horticulture Projects that were selected just for this theme. Be creative and have fun! We look forward to seeing what you enter!

Objectives of the Nevada 4-H Expo

  1. To provide recognition for achievement
  2. To provide new experiences for youth, leaders, and staff who participate
  3. To inspire adoption of approved practices and new ideas
  4. To showcase the talents of youth through various contests
  5. To provide a family-friendly, competitive event

Countless volunteers and supportive local contributors have worked together to provide a friendly, competitive event that can bring us all closer. I would also like to thank everyone who volunteered to serve on the planning committee! These people put in many, many hours of meetings to make this a great event. And another big thank you to all the youth exhibitors, volunteer leaders, and parents for making the trip to Reno!

As we all prepare for the 2026 Expo, everyone should remember the 4-H Motto: “To Make the Best Better!” Have fun, enjoy yourself, make new friends, and learn!!

Sincerely,
Lindsay Chichester
