Are you ready to showcase your skills, compete with fellow 4-H members, and celebrate everything you’ve learned through the University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program? The Nevada 4-H Expo is your chance to step into the spotlight!

Held annually, this action-packed event brings together youth from across the state to exhibit their talents, test their knowledge, and take part in exciting competitions—from animal care and STEM projects to creative arts and shooting sports. Whether you're demonstrating your expertise in livestock, photography, cooking, or robotics, the Expo is where hard work meets recognition!

  • Compete in skill-a-thons and quiz bowls for a shot at the Western National Roundup.
  • Show off your livestock and animal care knowledge, from reptiles to horses
  • Display your creativity through art, photography, and sewing projects
  • Engage in hands-on STEM activities that put your problem-solving skills to the test
  • Culminate your 4-H Shooting Sports journey with a statewide competition

Thursday, September 25

  • 10 a.m. Set-Up/Committee Chair Check-in
  • 1 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Shooting Sports participant Check-in
  • 1 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Static Exhibit Check-in
  • 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Livestock Check-In/health inspection
  • 3:30 p.m. Swine Breeding Show and Showmanship
    Sheep Breeding Show and Showmanship
    Meat Goat Show and Showmanship
    Beef Breeding Show and Showmanship
    Dairy Goat Show and Showmanship
    Dairy Cattle Show and Showmanship
  • 6 p.m. State Livestock Skill-a-Thon Contest

*Static exhibits must be checked in by 7:30 pm to be judged

Friday, September 26

  • 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Static Exhibit Judging
  • 8:30 a.m. Shooting Sports Match (air Rifle, air pistol, archery)
  • 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. 4-H Challenge and Activity Stations
  • 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. 4-H Challenge and Activity Stations
  • 1:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Small Animal Check-in (Rabbit, Cavy, Poultry, etc.) /health inspection
  • 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Small Animal Shows (Rabbit, Cavy, Poultry)
  • 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Static Exhibits open to the public
  • 6:45 p.m. Group Picture (wear your Expo shirt!)
  • 7 p.m. Fun Run/Walk/Glow Run – free to Expo exhibitors

Saturday, September 27

  • 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. Dog Show Check-in/health inspection
  • 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. Horse Show Check-in/health inspection
  • 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Horse Show (Halter, Showmanship, English, and Western)
  • 8 a.m. Shotgun Participant Check-in at Shotgun Range
  • 8:30 a.m. Dog Show – Showmanship
    Dog Show – Obedience (immediately following Showmanship)
  • 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Shooting Sports (shotgun)
  • 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Shooting Sports Match (.22 rifle, .22 pistol, muzzleloader)
  • 10 a.m. Herpetology Show Check-in/health inspection
  • 1 p.m. Herpetology Show Begins
  • 1 p.m. Dog Show – Rally
    Dog Show – Agility (immediately following Rally)
  • 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. 4-H Challenge and Activity Stations
  • 2 p.m. Small Animal Show (Herpetology)
  • 3 p.m. Fashion Revue
    Demonstration Contest & Public Speaking Contest (immediately following Fashion Revue)
  • 4:30 p.m. Large Animal & Small Animal Round Robins
  • 6 p.m. Livestock Quiz Bowl Contest (or following the conclusion of Round Robin)
  • 6:30 – 8 p.m. Static exhibits released

Sunday, September 28

  • 8:30 a.m. Donut Social, Expo Awards & Volunteer Recognition
  • 9:30 a.m. Clean-Up Facilities

Most events will be at the 3C Events Complex. Exact locations will be shared with participants two (2) weeks before the event.
