Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 ounces) garbanzo beans
  • 6 ounces canned red peppers
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 ½ tablespoons tahini paste
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ teaspoon cumin, ground
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 1 whole wheat pita

Directions

  1. Drain garbanzo beans. In a food processor or blender, puree until smooth. Add small amounts of water if it is too thick. Chop red peppers and add to puree.
  2. Add lemon juice, garlic, tahini paste, cumin, cayenne
    and salt. Puree until smooth and mixed well.
