In this course, you will learn about the livestock diseases that threaten animal agricultural industries in the United States, with an emphasis on Nevada. This course will focus on developing enhanced biosecurity plans for individual Nevada producers in the event of a Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) or other foreign animal disease (FAD) outbreak. Students will learn about biosecurity, high-impact livestock diseases, and one health.

The primary goals of this course are to:

  1. Help you understand the core concepts of infectious animal disease transmission and biosecurity to prevent disease outbreaks.
  2. Create an enhanced biosecurity plan for a livestock operation.
