Pyramid Lake Reservation

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Indian Reservation was reserved for Indian use by the federal government on November 29, 1859.  The land base was confirmed by Executive Order in 1864. Illustration 1 depicts the geographic location of the Pyramid Lake Reservation in Nevada. The reservation comprises 481,357acres of which 112,000 surface acres is occupied by Pyramid Lake, with a shoreline of 125 miles. The reservation is located 35 miles northeast of Reno in parts of Washoe County, Lyon County, and Storey County, Nevada.

Long Term Goal

Build capacity for productive food systems and food access on the reservation to increase fruit and vegetable intake, protect natural resources and cultural practices, and build community development programs for youth and elders.
