The conference committee is seeking hands-on workshops, research sessions, poster proposals and panel discussion leaders.

Presenters

Individuals and teams with information and backgrounds that align with the topics to be presented are encouraged to submit proposals. We ask that presentations are interactive and engaging for conference participants and provide useful and practicable information. We also ask that presentations be at least 45 minutes in length.

Audiences

New and veteran farmers, local chefs, local restaurant owners, master gardeners, farmers market managers, food banks and other urban agriculture stakeholders are encouraged to attend.

In Las Vegas

The conference will focus on funding resources available for farms and gardens run by individuals, community organizations, schools, non-profits and other entities. It will also include information regarding food system issues, as well as resources for expansion of and access to regional and local food systems. Additionally, the conference seeks to highlight topics related to on-farm guidance and innovation, such as conservation programs and grants, beginning farmer development programs, and protecting farms and crops from natural disasters. Assistance in marketing and selling farm- and value-added products through grants and loans will also be addressed. Finally, the conference aims to introduce programs to encourage participation by under-served and/or tribal youth in agriculture.

In Sparks

The conference will focus on small-acreage production, including crops and soil needs; livestock and animal health considerations; product marketing; and farm financial management, tax-planning and business skills.

Topics related to floriculture, specialty crops and regenerative agriculture will also be explored.
