Join University of Nevada, Reno Extension for three multi-day experiences across the state focused on learning, networking and practical skill-building. These events bring together farmers, food system partners, agricultural experts, Tribal leaders and community members to explore the future of Nevada’s farms and food systems.

The Nevada Tribal Food & Agriculture Summit provides a space for Tribal leaders, agricultural producers and community representatives to discuss key topics such as community service agreements, responding to extreme weather impacts, and long-term planning for agriculture and water. The summit supports open dialogue and collaborative approaches to strengthening Tribal food and agriculture systems.

Whether you are an experienced producer or just beginning your agricultural journey, these events offer valuable insights, hands-on knowledge and meaningful opportunities to connect with others in the field. Participants will gain practical tools to strengthen their operations, enhance their planning and spark new ideas for innovation.

This conference series is made possible through funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Risk Management Agency, supporting both small and large producers as they navigate production, price, market, financial, institutional, and human or personal risks. Information provided throughout the events will assist agricultural operators in making informed and strategic risk management decisions.

Conference sessions will cover topics such as:

  • Agriculture and food system planning
  • Planting strategies for pollinator-friendly gardens
  • Business, farm and food enterprise planning
  • Financial management and risk reduction
  • Resilient, sustainable and successful operations

The conference aims to connect, educate and inspire Nevada’s agricultural community by empowering producers and food system partners to build resilient, innovative and thriving farms and food systems across the state.
