Where We Live is a collaborative research initiative focused on how communities respond to drought, heat, and wildfire. Working in rural regions across Idaho, Nevada, and South Carolina, the project brings together researchers, practitioners, and local partners to study lived experiences alongside scientific data. By combining social science and community engagement, it aims to understand adaptation decisions and co-develop strategies that strengthen resilience and support a more sustainable future.

Lack of water can have damaging effects on people and the environment. A better understanding of the wide-ranging and far-reaching impacts of drought can improve drought assessments, monitoring, preparedness, and response.
