Summary

I have more than 30 years of experience in collaborative leadership, community engagement, government and media relations, program development and implementation, fundraising, management and strategic communications for nonprofit organizations and institutions of higher education. I enjoy finding win-win solutions to challenges and forging relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and with different perspectives. I am grateful for my family and the strong work ethic they instilled in me, and my top-notch mentors and teachers who relentlessly encouraged me.

·    2000 – 2008 and 2013 – 2015 – Edited and served as advisor on several regional and national award-winning University of Nevada Cooperative Extension publications
·    2000 – 2007 – Invited to several annual meetings and conferences to do marketing and media training for Cooperative Extension personnel, with some locations including Oregon State University, Colorado State University, University of Arizona and an Extension Regional Conference in Monterey, Calif.
·    November 2004 – Silver Pen Award from the Reno Gazette-Journal for best letter to the editor
·    September 2002 – Accepted with Susan Donaldson, Cooperative Extension, to present at the 13th Australian Weeds Conference in Perth, Western Australia on “Tall Whitetop” campaign, “Statewide weed education: what works, and what doesn’t”
·    November 2001 – Silver Spike Award of Excellence for “Calcium, It’s Not Just Milk” campaign, in the overall campaign budget less than $25,000 category, with Mary Spoon, Debbie Klein, Gwenn Snow, and Jamie Benedict of University of Nevada, Reno, presented by the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America
·    November 2001 – Silver Spike Judges’ Choice Award, the top honor of the year out of all categories and all budgets, presented for the aforementioned “Calcium, It’s Not Just Milk” campaign, presented by the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America
·    November 2001 – Silver Spike Award of Excellence for “Nevada Burning,” in the special purpose video category, with Ed Smith of Cooperative Extension and KOLO-TV 8, presented by the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America
