What is 4-H?

It's a learn-by-doing life-skills program that empowers young people.

For more than 90 years, Extension has administered a 4-H Program in Nevada. We teach youth communication, self-concept, team-building, problem-solving, decision-making, self-responsibility, conflict resolution, aspiration-building, goal-setting, community leadership and career development.

Welcome to 4-H in Northern Nye County

Our 4-H Programs actively involve area youth in quality experiences that focus on lifelong learning of values and skills.

Clubs

4-H Clubs encourage youth, ages 5-19, to learn by doing. There are a variety of 4-H Clubs and groups that young people can join such as:

  • Visual Arts - Members use colored shapes to make animals and other objects.
  • Science Exploration - Members learn about rainbows, air rockets, mars rovers, tree science, mirror magic and more.
  • The Lego Challenge - Is returning! Individual Lego packages will be available for each member and challenges will be given to include concepts, such as science, math and engineering.

Cloverbuds

Cloverbuds, ages 5-8, has age appropriate activities and allows for creativity and encourages play. The 4-H Cloverbud Program provides an excellent opportunity for youth to achieve their highest potential because early life experiences affect future development.
