The Lincoln County high-desert is unique, and our community garden is designed to show you exactly what our local climate and soils have to offer.

This garden serves as a county-wide learning hub and demonstration site for sustainable, high-desert agriculture.

It's located by the Extension office in Caliente and managed by the amazing volunteers Kathy LeFevre, Bonni Smith and Linda Hooper.

Upcoming events

Keep your eye on the calendar below to learn about and register for our upcoming events, including:

  • Gardening questions? - Stop by the garden every Monday from 7 to 9 a.m. to chat with our Master Gardener and garden volunteers.
  • Farmers market - We are committed to boosting farming across the entirety of Lincoln County. Whether you are a backyard grower in Alamo, a hobby farmer in Panaca or a resident in Caliente, we invite you to participate in our local farmers market! It is the perfect place to buy fresh, locally grown produce from the community garden and other vendors.

If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in an Extension event, please contact Illiana Guadalupe Villegas, at least 14 days prior to the scheduled event.
