Local Support for Nevada Beekeepers

See how Extension can assist you on your beekeeping journey.

Local beekeeping programs cover the entire beekeeping process. These programs offer participants hands-on opportunities.

Practical skills like setting up beehives, hive maintenance, overwintering, and harvesting honey are addressed through local beekeeping clubs throughout the state of Nevada.

Local programs often foster a sense of community among beekeepers. There you’ll have opportunities to connect with other enthusiasts, share experiences, and learn from one another. Through workshops, field days, and monthly meetings, local beekeeping clubs are excellent platforms for networking and gaining insights.

Bee & Garden Conference

The University of Nevada, Reno Extension in collaboration with the USDA Risk Management Agency(RMA) brings you the 2025 Bee and Garden Conference. The Bee and Garden Conference will focus on beekeeping, planting for pollinators, mitigating risk and insurance risk management products, designing landscapes for homeowners and small acreages, and specialty crop producers.

Hands-on opportunities and round table discussions with colleagues and peers will be available.

This conference is made possible by funding from the USDA’s Risk Management Agency and other partners, including local sponsors and the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program of the USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, and the Nevada Farm Bureau.
