The visitor use survey is an effort to learn about the visitor experience at each Nevada state park. The information provided by our visitors will help Nevada Division of State Parks (NDSP) improve parks and inform development, conservation, and recreation planning in a manner that aligns with visitor preferences.
This project is a partnership between NDSP and UNR Extension’s Nevada Economic Assessment Project (NEAP). The NEAP team uses the information provided by visitors to demonstrate how state park visitors value their parks and how visitation contributes to Nevada’s economy. For more information on NDSP and the survey, please visit their website.
The following documents represent comprehensive findings from the Visitor Use Survey covering demographics, trip quality, park performance, visitation patterns, recreation activities, planning priorities, and economic impacts. Key insights include visitation, diverse recreational interests, a demand for improved amenities and environmental conservation, and the impacts of the Parks system on local communities throughout Nevada.
Statewide Findings
The following documents report and analyze the data collected in the first year of survey recruitment. Pilot recruitment started in the Spring of 2022 with initial recruitment at all parks starting June 2022. The data used in the initial reports below includes all data collected through August 31, 2023.
Park Specific Information
The below shows all 27 state parks in Nevada. For each park that had a minimum survey recruitment collected, there are infographic fact sheets representing the data collected through the survey. Each park also has a link to the park-specific information on NDSP’s webpage.
