Nevada Extension Tribal Programs

Nevada is home to the Washoe, Northern Paiute, Southern Paiute, Western Shoshone, and Fort Mojave peoples. The state has 20 federally recognized tribes and 28 tribal reservations, colonies, bands, and community councils. These tribes are actively engaged in agriculture, food systems, economic development, youth and family services, and natural resource management.

Extension Native Programs Hoop House Project

The Native Programs Hoop House Project is empowering American Indian tribes across northern Nevada by enhancing access to fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Through hands-on support, education, and infrastructure development, this initiative helps tribal communities establish sustainable food systems, promote self-sufficiency, and strengthen traditional agricultural practices.
